METHOD FOR RECOVERING VALUABLE CONSTITUENTS FROM WASTE GYPSUM

PURPOSE: A method for recovering valuable constituents from waste gypsum is provided to effectively separate thus recover valuable constituents from the waste gypsum which are produced when neutralizing waste sulfuric acid generated during nonferrous metal refining process and minimize final waste. CONSTITUTION: In waste gypsum a large quantity of which is produced when neutralizing waste sulfuric acid generated during nonferrous metal refining process, the method for recovering valuable constituents from the waste gypsum comprises the steps of recovering gypsum by applying waste sulfuric acid to the waste gypsum so that the waste gypsum is acid pickled and filtered; recovering valuable metals in filtrate in sulfide through sulfuration and filtering processes; recovering gypsum by first neutralizing and filtering the filtrate; minimizing final waste by passing the filtrate through second neutralizing and filtering processes so that the minimized final waste is filled in; and discharging the resultant solution after waste treatment and pH adjustment of the filtrate.
