PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use functions provided in a portable telephone set in a fixed telephone set and to provide the fixed telephone set capable of improving operability of the portable telephone set. SOLUTION: The fixed telephone set is provided with a transmission/reception part for outputting ON signals in the case of lifting a handset, a ringing tone generation part, a dial part for outputting dial signals corresponding to pressed buttons, a control part for outputting the dial signals through an interface part to the portable telephone set, originating a call by the portable telephone set and performing communication at the time of originating a call and detecting an incoming call tone from the portable telephone set, instructing generation of ringing tones to the ringing tone generation part and controlling the communication by using the handset at the point of time of detecting the ON signals at the time of an incoming call, a line coping part for sending out the dial signals to a telephone line and attaining a communication state in the case that there is a response from an exchange, and a changeover switch for connecting the transmission/reception part to either one of the interface part and the line coping part.
