PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiving device capable of supplying power in response to the state of a power supply line to a down converter 2. SOLUTION: A system control unit 12 discriminates whether the power supply line is shorted or not based on a detection signal S1 of a comparator 13, and discriminates whether power supply voltage is supplied from other satellite broadcasting receiving devices or not based on a detection signal S2 of a comparator 14, while the system control unit 12 conducts switching control for an input voltage switch 15. According to the result of the above operation, it is determined whether power supply is performed for the down converter 2 or not.
