PREPARATION OF HIGHLY HEAT RESISTANT RESIN BY CONTINUOUS MASS POLYMERIZATION

PURPOSE: A method for preparing a highly heat resistant resin by continuous mass polymerization or solution polymerization and a maleimide-based monomer-containing terpolymer resin prepared by the method are provided, to improve the uniformity of composition, thereby enhancing the heat resistance. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the step of inserting monomers by dividing each monomer into each reactor in a specific ratio. Preferably the method comprises the steps of inserting a mixture A comprising 40-60 parts by weight of an aromatic vinyl monomer and an initiator and a mixture B comprising 5-20 parts by weight of a cyano vinyl monomer, 5-20 parts by weight of a maleimide-based monomer and 5-15 parts by weight of a ketone-based solvent, into a first reactor separately; and inserting a mixture C comprising 5-20 parts by weight of a maleimide-based monomer, 5-20 parts by weight of a cyano vinyl monomer and 5-15 parts by weight of a ketone-based solvent, into a second reactor. The product of the first reactor is flown into the second reactor. Preferably the solvent is methylethyl ketone.
