PURPOSE: A device and a method for supplying power in a powered-hub are provided to enable the powered-hub to supply temporary backup power of a terminal requiring power supply and equipment using each kind of LAN(Local Area Network), by using vibrators and a simple structure of checking the corresponding vibrator. CONSTITUTION: The first RJ-45 jack(51-1) receives an vibration signal transmitted from the first terminal(10) requiring power and including the first vibrator(11) through an unused pin, to supply the vibration signal to a PLD(Programmable Logic Device)(52). The third RJ-45 jack(51-3) is connected to the third terminal(30) not including a vibrator while requiring power, and receives a vibration signal transmitted from an RJ-45 extended jack(40) including the second vibrator(41) through an unused pin to supply the vibration signal to the PLD(52). The PLD(52) checks the existence of the vibration signal received through each RJ-45 jack(51-1/51-n), to control the on/off operations of each relay(54-1/54-n). A power module(53) generates DC(Direct Current) power to supply the DC power to each relay(54-1/54-n). And the relays(54-1/54-n) supply the DC power from the power module(53) to the terminals(10,30) through the RJ-45 jacks(51-1/51-n) or cut off the DC power, according to the on/off control of the PLD(52).
