PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmitter capable of amplifying and transmitting a wavelength multiplex optical signal by reducing the number of parts such as an optical amplifier and simplifying the configuration of the device. SOLUTION: The transmitter (30) for accommodating 1st and 2nd transmission lines for propagating 1st and 2nd wavelength band multiplex optical signals is provided with: a 1st optical amplifier (36) connected to the 1st and 2nd transmission lines in common to amplify multiplex optical signals of a 1st wavelength band propagated through these 1st and 2nd transmission lines; and a 2nd optical amplifier (38) connected to the 1st and 2nd transmission lines in common to amplify multiplex optical signals of the 2nd wavelength band propagated through these 1st and 2nd transmission lines. |
