PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To hold in parallel a photo-sensing portion at the upper surface of an optical semiconductor element and the lower surface of a light transmitting lid thereof. SOLUTION: A optical semiconductor device comprises a base material where a recess 2a is formed on its upper main surface, an optical semiconductor element 3 placed on the bottom surface 2b of the recess 2a where the photo-sensing portion 3a is provided at the center of the upper surface, and an electrode 4 is formed at its external circumferential portion, a resin layer 7 provided to almost the entire part of the circumference of the recess 2a of the upper main surface, and a light transmitting lid 8 which is bonded to the upper part of the resin layer 7 to shield the optical semiconductor element 3. Three supporting members 9 each having almost the same height are provided in almost equal intervals in an area extended to the lower surface of the light transmitting lid 8 from the circumference of the optical semiconductor element 3 on the bottom surface 2b of the recess 2a. |
