PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an original manuscript processor which enables sure shading correction with simple constitution. SOLUTION: The original manuscript processor 60 transfers an original manuscript S to a reading part, reads a surface of the manuscript S, and then reads a back of the manuscript S by using a close contact image sensor 30. The processor 60 is equipped with a rotatable white guide member 31 arranged at a position facing the sensor 30 to be isolated by a prescribed distance, a stepping motor 77 driving the guide member 31 rotatably, and a detector 42 for detecting a facing surface of the guide member 31 to the image sensor 30. The stepping motor 77 drives the guide member 31 rotatably, in such a manner that a manuscript guide surface 31a of the guide member 31 which is detected by the detector 42 when the manuscript is read is made to differ from a shading correction surface 31c of the guide member 31 which is detected by the detector 42 when shading is corrected.
