PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silver halide photographic sensitive material which ensures such satisfactory sensitivity as to cause no unevenness in density and can rapidly be processed even in a processing system in which a developing solution is replenished by a small amount and to provide a processing method for the material. SOLUTION: In the silver halide photographic sensitive material having on the base at least one silver halide emulsion layer containing photosensitive silver halide grains and at least one non-photosensitive hydrophilic colloidal layer, the amount of iodine contained in the photosensitive silver halide grains is 0-0.45 mol% on the average and a surfactant of formula (1) is contained.
