PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for photography which can easily photograph the face part of a person from the front by a stable structure having no movable part. SOLUTION: The photographing method which is an unmanned photography box type is characterized in that a camera which photographs the person by arranging a plurality of imaging parts having their optical axes of photography in parallel to the floor surface in a photography box is arranged at a vertical interval to the floor surface and the position of the person in a vertical direction is measured and the imaging part which can photograph the person so that the face part of the person in a photographic plane is at a position closet to a specified position is selected out of the plurality of imaging parts according to the measurement result of the person position to photograph the person by the selected imaging part.
