PURPOSE: A strip width measuring device with automatic zero-position adjustment function is provided to minimize measuring error, thereby improve measuring reliability and working productivity by installing a sample device whose gap is automatically adjusted according to a preset width, thereby automatically correcting the width measuring device. CONSTITUTION: In a device for measuring width of strip, the strip width measuring device(100) with automatic zero-position adjustment function comprises at least one light emitting part, image acquiring part and width varying part, wherein the light emitting part(116) is fixed to a position capable of emitting light toward the image acquiring part with the belt part being positioned between the light emitting part(116) and image acquiring part, the image acquiring part comprises camera units(110a,110b) oppositely transferred to each other by rotation of servo motor(108), each set of the width varying part comprises two parallel horizontal shafts rotationally fixed to bearing blocks, the two parallel horizontal shafts comprise driving shafts(40a,40b) rotated by motor and driven shafts, rotation of the driving shafts is calculated by a pulse generator, the motor and pulse generators(50a,50b) are connected to an operation terminal, belts(20a,20b) are respectively fastened on the outer circumference of each shafts of the first set including the at least two parallel horizontal shafts and the outer circumference of each shafts of the second set, the belts are formed so that light penetrates a region corresponding to position of a light receiving object of at least the camera units(110a,110b), a sample plate is installed in the middle of the region through which the light transmits with the front end of the sample plate being directed to the outside, and a part of the belts that become the upper surface when transferring the front end of the sample plate to the maximum forms a shielding part.
