PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sidelight type surface light source device wherein a backside illumination uniform and having a high front brightness can be carried out by a simple constitution. SOLUTION: This device is the sidelight type surface light source 10 including a light conducting member 13 composed of a flat and light-permeable material and provided with a plural number of peak-formed first prism parts 13b vertically ranging in the lateral direction at the lower face as a reflecting face, a sheet-formed light reflecting member 12 arranged and installed opposing to the lower face of the light conducting member, and a light-source 17 arranged and installed opposing to a side face of one side or both sides of the light conducting member. The sidelight type surface light source 10 is constituted so that the light source 17 is constituted of plural pieces of LEDs 18 arranged and installed in a row opposing to the side face of the light conducting member, and so that the light conducting member 13 is provided with a plural number of the peak-formed second prism parts 13b extended in a lateral direction from the one side to the other side on the upper face as the emitting face. |
