PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary battery of high energy density, of high capacity, and excellent in stability of charge/discharge cycle. SOLUTION: The secondary battery comprises at least a positive electrode 2, a negative electrode 1, and an electrolyte as components. At least either the positive electrode or negative electrode contains an active material which generates stable radical compound having such partial structure as represented by the chemical expression (1) as a reaction intermediate in the electrode reaction at charging or discharging. |
