PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an extension unit for control cable for a pan-tilt camera for remotely controlling the same camera. SOLUTION: The pan-tilt camera 2 can be installed in the area isolated by about 500 m from a personal computer 4 as the pan-tilt camera controller, by connecting the pan-tilt camera 2 and the extension unit 3 with a coaxial multiplex communication cable 7. Moreover, the camera may be handled freely because only the coaxial multiplex communication cable 9 is required for this area. In addition, since the extension unit 3 outputs various command to operate the pan-tilt camera 2 by processing, with a signal processor 12, the remote control signal received by a wireless receiving unit 14, the pan-tilt camera 2 can be controlled remotely from the area isolated by about 500 m to improve flexibility by using an infrared remote controller 5 toward the extension unit 3.
