ANGIOGENESIS-INHIBITING COMPOSITION CONTAINING HORSE CHESTNUT EXTRACT AS EFFECTIVE INGREDIENT

PURPOSE: A composition containing horse chestnut extract having angiogenesis-inhibiting activity as an effective component is provided. The horse chestnut extract has excellent angiogenesis-inhibiting effect and thus can be effectively used as a tumor suppressor and a cancer metastasis suppressant and in the treatment of ophthalmic disease caused by angiogenesis and various diseases related to angiogenesis. CONSTITUTION: An angiogenesis-inhibiting composition contains a horse chestnut extract. For an example, 500g of horse chestnut leaves and 200g of horse chestnut seeds are respectively extracted in 80% methanol at 50deg.C for 12hr. The extract is filtered and concentrated to produce 120g of a chestnut leaf extract and 53g of chestnut seed extract. A syrup product contains 2g of chestnut extract powder, 0.8g of saccharin, 25.4g of saccharide, 8.0g of glycerin, 0.04g of flavorings, 4.0g of ethanol, 0.4g of sorbic acid and a suitable amount of distilled water. A unit dose of the extract is preferably 5mg to 2g, more preferably 10mg to 1g.
