PURPOSE: A thermotherapy apparatus and method capable of controlling an amount of heat injected are provided to treat a living body effectively by radiating heat to the body as much as a properly controlled dose. CONSTITUTION: The thermotherapy apparatus comprises: a heat administering unit(10) for administering a heat having a varied energy level to a living body in response to a heat control signal; a temperature sensing unit(12) for sensing the internal temperature of the living body heated by the administered heat and outputting the sensed internal temperature; and a control unit(14) for comparing the internal temperature and a predetermined temperature and generating the heat control signal in response to the result of the comparison.
