PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a permanent magnet rotor capable of reducing a cost while keeping the performance of a permanent magnet motor. SOLUTION: Each pole of a rotor core of the permanent magnet motor is provided with a recessed magnet accommodation hole that is formed of a plurality of layers: the recessed bottom of the recessed magnet accommodation hole faces a rotor axis hole; both-side ends are extended to the external periphery of the rotor; at least an outermost peripheral layer of the permanent magnet rotor where a permanent magnet is built in the recessed magnet accommodation hole has an effective pole opening angle corresponding to the current-passing section of an inverter or the like; and the consumption of the permanent magnet in a layer other than the outermost peripheral layer is reduced while substantially keeping the main flux torque of the rotor. The permanent magnet built in the magnet accommodation hole of the rotor can be used in common, to enable the reduction of the cost.
