PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that since the surface temperature of a thin film being in contact with a recording material can not be set high in a conventional heating device off a thin film heating system, it is difficult to ensure a heating performance due to that the quantity of heat supplied to toner becomes insufficient when the device operates at high speed. SOLUTION: In the heating device, the face of a heating body, which is in contact with the thin film, is a curved face. Also, in the area outside a nip, an insulation board and the thin film are in contact with each other. The area of the contact with the thin film, which is upstream in the nip, is wider than the area of the contact with the thin film, which is downstream in the nip.
