FRONT SIDE SUCTION AND DISCHARGE TYPE OUTDOOR UNIT FOR AIR CONDITIONER

PURPOSE: A front side suction and discharge type outdoor unit for an air conditioner is provided to improve efficiency of heat exchange. CONSTITUTION: An outdoor unit comprises an outdoor unit casing formed as a rectangular parallelepiped with one side facing the outside opened and the other sides including an upper side, a bottom side closed, and having an inside divided into a suction part and a discharge part; a compressor installed in the outdoor unit casing to compress refrigerant vapor supplied from an indoor unit through a tube; an air-cooled condenser installed in the outdoor unit casing to condense refrigerant vapor supplied from the compressor; and a cross flow cooling fan(40) installed in the outdoor unit casing, including a diffuser(40') with a cut-off(41) whose angle(alpha) is equal to or larger than 90 deg. to supply outside air to the air-cooled condenser and to discharge air having exchanged heat. Wind volume is increased thereby as flow rate in a fan discharge part is reduced for the same wind volume because the diffuser imposes no discharge resistance and discharge area is increased.
