PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a parison grasping device for a blow molding machine used for grasping, holding and releasing a parison for a plastic container, especially easy to manufacture and inexpensive and capable of automatically performing three operations. SOLUTION: The parison grasping device is equipped with a support means 1 capable of being connected to a parison transfer device and positioned in the blow molding machine to be movable along with the blow molding machine, and a means 10 for grasping the neck 2a of the parison. The grasping means 10 is restricted by the support means 1 and has means 15 and 15a capable of cooperating with a related device 20 for performing the on-off operation of the grasping means 10.
