PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of electrode for resistance welding which enables improving surface smoothness in a center portion of a tip of the electrode for resistance welding by press forming. SOLUTION: When a material electrode 11 for resistance welding is inserted into a cavity 21 of a die 20 and the material for the electrode for resistance welding is press formed by pressing with a center punch 30, a bottom face 112 of the center portion 13 is once formed into a concavity 131 by a counter punch 40 moving back and forth, being inserted through a through-hole 22 in the bottom of the cavity 21 of the die 20. Then the bottom face 112 is formed conversely into a convexity 132 and finally formed into a smooth surface continuing to a draw formed surface 12.
