PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a folding cylinder of a rotary press capable of restraining occurrence of defective paper (a signature) having break of the tip parts or creases. SOLUTION: In this folding cylinder of the rotary press for forming a side fold to a web 3 wound around a peripheral surface and folded into two cooperating with a folding roller 14, a protrusion 21 is formed for abutting a paper bottom part on a peripheral surface portion to which the paper bottom part 3a of the web 3 approaches.
