PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and economic method of testing power module by which partial discharge occurring in an insulating gel coating a component in the interface between power terminals or various insulating materials can be detected. SOLUTION: This method of inspecting a power module (1) is characterized in that it measures partial discharge occurring between the emitter (11) and collector (10) of the module (1) when an AC voltage source superimposed upon a DC voltage source is connected between the collector (10) and emitter (11) of the module (1) and the voltage Vtest received by means of the module (1) between the collector (10) and emitter (11) of the module (1) verifies at all times the condition Vtest >0 so that a diode (4) may never conduct.
