PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary compressor minimizing an increase in cost resulting from a carbon bush provided between a bearing and a rotating shaft. SOLUTION: The rotary compressor 10 having a sealed container 12 containing an electric operated element 14 and rotary compression elements 34, 32 to be driven by the electric operated element comprises cylinders 38, 40 constituting the rotary compression elements, respectively, a lower supporting member 56 blocking the cylinder 40 at its opening face on the opposite side to the electric operated element and having a bearing 46A for the rotating shaft 16 of the electric operated element, and an upper supporting member 54 blocking the cylinder 38 at its opening face on the side of the electric operated element and having a bearing 54A for the rotating shaft, wherein the carbon bush 122 laid between the bearing and the rotating shaft is provided in the bearing of one of the supporting members 56, 54.
