PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piston for an internal combustion engine, which can reduce both vibration of a piston at the time of operating the engine and fuel consumption. SOLUTION: In this piston for an internal combustion engine having a skirt part, an outer face of the skirt part is axially symmetrical to a center axial line of the piston, and the outside diameter of the skirt part becomes smaller as it goes down from the top toward the bottom of the skirt part.
