PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To be securely fixed to a man's body or the like, suppress swinging in accordance with the movement of the man's body and suppress the sticking of dew condensation to clothes or the like and hold a variety of containers having different height and thickness. SOLUTION: The device for holding a container is provided with an upper holding member 1 having an almost circular shape and constricting the upper part of a bottle, a lower holding member 2 for holding the lower part of the bottle, and a plate shaped connecting member 3 having a width corresponding to the width dimension of the bottle and connecting the vicinity of the base of the upper holding member with the vicinity of the base of the lower holding member. The upper holding member 1 is equipped with a fall-suppressing part for suppressing the fall of a low bottle which is arranged to be hanging. The upper holding member and the lower holding member are arranged to hold the bottle in their horizontal position or to bend downward along the connecting member to hold the bottle. The upper holding member is swingably connected with the connecting member in the vicinity of the base thereof and is formed to be bendable along the connecting member. The upper holding member takes a position and dimension in a way that it is housed within the length of the connecting member when housed along the connecting member.
