A background screen for photography has an upright support frame fitted into a swivel mounting in the floor, and with each side provided with a different background image. Markings at a set distance from the screen indicate the optimum position for the photographer, e.g. when using a single use camera. The frame has an aperture which is greater than 30 cm wide at the narrowest point and which is at least 25 cm from any edge of the frame.
