A mixer chamber (5,6) for fuel and compressed air supplied by a compressor (11), is located in front of an intake valve (7,8) or an intake aperture into a cylinder space. The intake volume of the compressor is larger than the stroke volume of the cylinder (3,4). A blower (12) acting in direction of the intake aperture, is located in front of the compressor intake. The compressor is driven by the engine crankshaft.
