The invention relates to a composition consisting of at least two, especially two, biocompatible chemically cross-linkable components, especially for glueing biological tissue, comprising at least the following components: a) an aqueous solution of at least one polymer containing amino groups, b) an aqueous solution of at least one aldehyde containing at least three aldehyde groups. Said composition is free of albumin. The invention also relates to the use of said composition as a surgical tissue adhesive and to a kit consisting of two substantially separate containers containing the components of said composition.
