The present invention relates to an apparatus for continuous vacuum forming of a thermoplastic material between a pair of rotating flexible belts (15, 17) in which one belt (15) includes a plurality of teeth (32), which are received in a plurality of indentations (31) of the other belt (17). Each of the belts includes a mold (14a-b, 16a-b), which forms a channel (18a-b) when the belts (15, 17) are adjacent to one another. A vacuum (28) is applied to at least one of the flexible belts (15, 17) for drawing material received in the channel (18) and alignment of the belts (15, 17). Preferably, a vacuum (28) can be applied to both of the belts for improved alignment. Each belt can include a plurality of apertures, (40, 50) which are in fluid flow communication with a plurality of perforations of a flat support belt (20) positioned over a vacuum manifold (28).
