PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the rolling plate of a plate compacter, of which the durability can be improved and the life can be elongated by improving the abrasion resistance of the rear part of the rolling plate. SOLUTION: In the plate compacter, the vibration exciting shaft 15 of a vibration exciter 14 is rotated by revolution power from an engine 13 to transmit vibration to the rolling plate 11. The rolling plate 11 comprises a first surface 11a used for compaction of a newly paved asphalt, and a second surface 11b consecutively formed on the rear end of the first surface 11a used for rubbing compaction of the joint between an existing asphalt and a newly paved asphalt. The second surface 11b is formed into an inclined surface having an angle corresponding to the angle of inclination of the rolling plate 11, which is formed when the front part of the rolling plate is tilted upward as an operating handle 17 is pressed down upon carrying out the rubbing compaction work of the joint.
