摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semi-convection type forced air system useful for heating low emissivity coated glass including low emissivity coated glass having an emissivity less than 0.2. SOLUTION: The semi-convection type forced air system for heating glass sheets during a heating cycle is comprised of a heating chamber having a length and a width, at least one heating element located within the heating chamber, a conveyer extending in the direction of the length within the heating chamber, a compressed air source, a plurality of air manifolds located within the heating chamber so as to be fluidly connected to the compressed air source and oriented in parallel to the length of conveyer, and a plurality of nozzles attached to each of the air manifolds so as to be fluidly connected, and arranged along the length of the air manifolds and spaced apart each other for mixing the compressed air and air from a heating furnace, leading the mixed air toward glass sheets located above the conveyer, and convectively heating the glass sheets.
