WIPING MECHANISM OF INK JET PRINTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a conventional wiping mechanism is provided with a wiper blade switching means for switching a wiper blade from a retreat position to an operation position or from the operation position to the retreat position at both an upper end and a lower end off a predetermined wiping range, eventually making the wiping mechanism complicate in the constitution and high-cost. SOLUTION: Guides are set for guiding an inclination of the wiper blade so that the wiper blade rotates to retreat from an ink jet head while moving along the ink jet head at a position exceeding the predetermined wiping range. Moreover, guides for guiding the wiper blade inclination are set symmetrically each other to both sides of the predetermined wiping range. The wiper blade can be retreated at both ends of the ink jet head even when the wiper blade is operated to wipe from any of two directions.
