PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heater with a long life for welding a synthetic resin which prevents welding on the surface thereof using an aluminum main body, which facilitates cleaning even when a weld or the like occurs without being hardly impaired even when a wire brush or the like is used. SOLUTION: The heater which heats the surface of a thermoplastic synthetic resin material, in contact therewith, has heat sources 7 and 8 and the main body 1 of an aluminum material heated by the heat sources. The main body has heating parts 2 and 3 so designed as to come into contact with the surface of the synthetic resin to be heated and a CrN film is formed at least on the surfaces 2a and 3a of the heating parts. As for the thermoplastic synthetic resin material of which the surface is heated, a plurality of surfaces thereof are heated and the heated surfaces are welded to each other. The CrN film is formed by a physical vapor deposition method.
