PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus performing storage print processing where print data from a host is stored before being printed without requiring any extra operation. SOLUTION: Upon receiving a print job from a host machine, a laser printer commences image processing of one page and commences generation of data (video data) deliverable from a printer engine upon ending intermediate processing. Upon completing generation of a page of video data, the laser printer checks an RAM for an idle capacity corresponding to the capacity of generated video data. Video data of other print jobs already stored in the RAM is deleted if a sufficient idle capacity is not present otherwise a memory area is ensured for a print job received this time before the generated video data is written (step S101-S107). Storage print processing can thereby be effected without requiring any special operation at the host. |
