REGENERATING METHOD FOR EXISTING PIPE AND SHIELD PLATE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect a regenerated pipe made of thermoplastic resin during heating from a water inflow for smoothly expanding the diameter of the regenerated pipe in a regeneration operation for lining the regeneration pipe by heating and expanding the diameter of the regeneration pipe in an existing pipe. SOLUTION: In this regenerating method for the existing pipe, before the regeneration pipe 1 is inserted into the existing pipe 2, a shield plate 3 formed of a waterproof thin plate material is stuck in the existing pipe 2 at positions where the water inflow occurs generally in an arc shape in cross section. The upper part of the regeneration pipe 1 inserted into the existing pipe 2 is covered with the shield plates 3. Inflowing water is made to flow down in the circumferential direction along the projected side surface of the shield plate 3 to prevent at least the upper half part of the regeneration pipe 1 from being cooled by the water.
