<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain both of highly accurate skew distortion correction and stable paper conveyance, in a conveyance apparatus with a skew distortion correction mechanism. SOLUTION: By driving a warm 64 with a warm wheel 65, a pair of pre- register rolls 20 can be moved in an axial direction. A clutch 67 engages a driving motor 66 in a rotation-stopping condition to convey a paper sheet P near a pair of register rolls 14 while the restraint state of the pair of pre- register rolls 20 is being maintained (A). When a sensor 400 detects the front end of the paper sheet, the clutch 67 is disengaged to release the restraint state of the pair of pre-register roll 20 to bend the sheet P between the pair of register rolls 14 and the pair of pre-register rolls 20, thus correcting skew (C, D). When the sensor 404 detects the rear end of the sheet, the clutch 67 is engaged to rotate the drive motor 66, so that the pair of pre-register rolls 20 is kept in such a state that it is forcibly moved in the axial direction, thus returning the axial direction of the pair of pre-register rolls 20 to a home position.</p> |
