PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically tilt a license plate to a desired angle with wind pressure on running, and fix tilting with a fixing means ordinarily. SOLUTION: A license plate stay 1 comprises a license plate mounting member 3, a stay body 5 for tiltably supporting the license plate member 3 and fixing to a vehicle body side, a hinge 6 for tiltably connecting the license plate 3 and the stay body 5 with each other, a twist coil spring 8 for energizing in the direction to restraint the tilt of the license plate mounting member 3 for the stay body 5 incorporated in the hinge 6, and a fixing means 9 incapable of tilting the license plate mounting member 3 for the stay body 5.
