<p>1351014 Respiratory apparatus DANFOSS AS 19 April 1971 [16 April 1970] 22621/71 Heading AST [Also in Division F2] In a valve arrangement for controlling flow from a diver's gas bottle to automatic breathing equipment, the gas flows from inlet 2 to outlet 4 via manual cut-off valve 14, 15, pressure reducing valve 19, 20 and reserve valve 38. 39, which as shown shares a common actuating diaphragm 23 and loading spring 27 with the reducing valve, the diaphragm responding at 29 to ambient hydrostatic pressure. If the gas pressure falls to a predetermined value, reserve valve 38, 39 closes and can only be opened to allow the user to gain access to the remaining gas, by rotating knob 41 to move stem 40 axially due to cooperation of pin 42 with cam 44. Lugs 46, 47 (Fig. 4) prevent rotation of knob 41 until the reserve valve has closed. Relief valve 49, 51 vents excess pressure at outlet 4. The gas bottle is recharged via port 6 and check valve 10. In a modification, the relief valve is omitted and a separate reserve valve is provided at the outlet.</p> |
