Charging device for charging a liquid bath (3), especially a molten bath, with components, especially whole or broken up tires (T) or other multi-component elastomer/plastic components, and for discharging the components or reaction products from the liquid bath comprises a segmented transport wheel (21) having an axis of rotation parallel to the surface of the liquid and liquid-permeable separating walls (27) running from the periphery toward the axis of rotation. The shape of the separating walls at least contributes to forcing the components against the lifting force into the liquid in an input region and to lifting the components or their reaction products above the liquid surface and out of the liquid in an outlet region. An Independent claim is also included for a chemical reactor comprising the above charging device.
