<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a differential gear mechanism, in which a locking differential gear is improved to enhance the strength and torque transmission performance of the body as a whole. SOLUTION: The differential gear mechanism includes a first output gear 25 having teeth 39 of annular row, a cam and ramp actuator 55 having the first and second operation plates 59 and 63 arranged on the outside of the end wall of a gear case, and an electromagnetic actuator generating rotation of the second operation plate 63 to the gear case, where a lock plate 41 is disposed which is adjacent to the first output gear 25 and forms a plurality of recesses 43 meshing with the teeth 39. The first operation plate 59 has a plurality of operation members 85. The first operation plate 59 is axially moved toward the first output gear 25 by the relative rotation of the operation plates 59 and 63, whereby the cam and ramp actuator 55, and operation member 85 lead the lock plate 41 to the lock position and to lock the lock plate with respect to the output gear 25.</p> |
