<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus, and a method for press-molding a glass substrate capable of rapid cooling to improve productivity, and slow cooling and fine adjustment of temperatures to control substrate performances. SOLUTION: The apparatus for press-molding a glass substrate in which upper and lower molds including heaters are provided; a glass material is placed between the upper and lower molds; and the glass substrate is press-molded comprise upper and lower heat sinks capable of either contacting or non- contacting with the opposite surfaces to press-molding surfaces of the upper and lower molds, drive means to move the upper and lower heat sinks, rapid cooling means comprising driving the drive means to bring the upper and lower heat sinks into contact with the opposite surfaces to the press-molding surfaces of the upper and lower molds, and slow cooling means comprising driving the drive means to bring the upper and lower heat sinks into non-contact with the opposite surfaces to the press-molding surfaces of the upper and lower molds.</p> |
