PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the operating noise of a combustion fan leaking out of a casing. SOLUTION: In this water heater, no air inlet is provided in the lower part of the front surface of a front plate 2, and air inlets 2a and 2b are provided in two lines by cutting and raising the lower portions of the right and left side faces of the front plate 2 and the lower surface of the front plate, with the open width of each air inlet being about 4 mm. The operating noise is thus reduced.
