PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an engine control system which avoids such a situation that engine stall is caused by a trouble of a basic sensor for engine control. SOLUTION: The engine control system comprises a reference voltage storage means 21 which stores the reference voltage VAFS- STD when an AFS 9 for controlling an engine 1 is in the normal state, a comparison means 22 which compares the output voltage VAFS of the AFS 9 at the time of stoppage of the engine 1 with the reference voltage VAFS- STD so as to calculate the amount of deviationΔVAFS, and an correction means 23 which corrects the output voltage VAFS of the AFS 9 on the basis of the amount of deviationΔVAFS so that it may correspond to the reference voltage VAFS- STD. A fuel injection amount Tinj is calculated, based on output voltage VAFS- OBJ of the basic sensor obtained by the correction means 23.
