METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SINTERED ARTICLE, AND SINTERED ARTICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sintered article which can be reliably brazed with copper of a filler metal, at a low cost, without using high pressure forming or high temperature sintering. SOLUTION: This method for manufacturing the sintered article comprises compressing and forming a mixed powder of an Fe powder and a Fe-P alloy powder to form a green compact, sintering the green compact at a sintering temperature higher than a melting point of an Fe-P alloy but lower than that of Fe, to provide the sintered article with a density of 7.2-7.5 g/cubic cm and with an intercommunicating porosity of 2% or less.
