PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-based aluminum composition soluble or dispersible in a water-based resin composition, effective mainly as a normal temperature- curing type crosslinking agent or insolubilizing agent for an acidic group- containing water-based resin composition, and also good at solution stability after mixed. SOLUTION: This water-based aluminum composition is obtained by hydrolyzing an alkoxyaluminum compound and an epoxy group-containing alkoxysilane compound in their coexistent state, or by hydrolyzing the alkoxyaluminum compound in the coexistence of the alkoxyaluminum compound and an epoxy group-containing hydroxysilane compound formed in advance by hydrolyzing the epoxy group-containing alkoxysilane compound.
