PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective and economical wet friction type material and its manufacturing method, capable of uniformly carbonizing resin and fiber of the outermost layer of a friction surface, and flexibly corresponding to the product sizes of many types. SOLUTION: As a result of friction tests conducted under the same condition about a wet friction material (surface treatment) forming a carbon layer with a certain thickness, a wet friction material (struck product) which is mechanically scraped by a conventional method, and a wet frictional material (without striking) which has not been treated at all, a negative gradient is indicated in a case (without striking), and hardly any change is indicated in a case of (struck product). In contrast to these, a case of (surface treatment) indicates that the greater the rotational speed V, the greater the value of slippageμ, andμ-V positive gradient slope property is indicated. In this way, a proper wet friction material indicatingμ-V positive gradient is obtained by forming the carbon layer with radiating laser beam on the resin, or fiber existing in the outermost surface of the wet friction material. |
