PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine revolving speed limiting system which restricts the number of revolutions of an engine in consideration of the environment of the area or the like where a vehicle runs. SOLUTION: A navigator ECU of a navigation equipment for a vehicle sets a 'revolution limit', i.e., an upper limit of the number of revolutions of the vehicle engine (steps S6, S7) in accordance with the area on the map to which the current position of the vehicle belongs (steps S2 to S4), and the set command is transmitted to an engine controller (step S8). The engine controller restricts the number of revolutions of the engine so that it may not exceed the revolution limit which has been set (step S9). |
