PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mounting method for an air conditioner 1 arranged in rear of an instrument panel 2 in a cabin of an automobile capable of reducing assembling man-hours of a whole vehicle and simplifying assembling work of the air conditioner 1 by reducing part assembling work in a vehicle assembly line. SOLUTION: The instrument panel 2 is inverted vertically and is fixed. Then, an air-conditioning unit 4 of the air conditioner 1 is mounted on an instrument panel member 7 arranged on a rear side of the instrument panel 2. Then, a blowing unit 3 is mounted on the instrument panel member 7, is slid to a side of the air-conditioning unit 4, and the blowing unit 3 is temporarily fixed by inserting a protruding piece 60 of the air-conditioning unit 4 in a hole part 61 of the blowing unit 3, and is fixed by a fastening member. The instrument panel 2 is conveyed to the cabin, a pin part 42 provided on a vehicle body front side wall part of the air-conditioning unit 4 is inserted into a through hole 37 of the dash panel P so as to be positioned, and is fixed on the dash panel P at a predetermined part.
