PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive dust prevention mechanism which can be applied to printing heads having nozzles mounted with a high density. SOLUTION: In the dust prevention mechanism for the ink jet printer provided with the ink jet printing head having a nozzle array of a plurality of arrays for discharging ink, a member having a plurality of holes formed to the periphery of the nozzle array of the plurality of arrays, a blower for blowing the air from the plurality of holes, and a hose for linking the air from the blower to a plate having a plurality of holes, the plurality of holes are angled to mix the air blown out from adjacent holes of the plurality of holes.
